About Yale Motor Works

Jason DeMagistris, owner of Yale Motor Works, was an aspiring mechanic for 3 years before he was presented with an opportunity to open his own shop in 1996 at age 18. He was born and raised in New Haven County and is familiar with the local spots and quite a lot of local people too. His venture into business ownership and customer service came from seeing the need in his community for affordable, but reliable automotive work.

After some time in the business, he started noticing customers bringing in quotes from some big name places that were outrageous. He knew these people were being taken advantage of. After all, he was running his own shop and still able to make a profit. He decided to make his mission to provide better service at a much better rate, and the customer can still feel comfortable going to a licensed professional.

Jason has said that his worst fear was that customers would be turned off by these crazy high prices and turn to a “backyard mechanic” and get burned even worse. Unfortunately, lots of people are doing stuff for less, but are not certified and the work is not guaranteed. It is tempting to want cheap labor by uncertified garage, but the potential dangers are a reality. Jason has had to fix these amateurs’ mistakes and that can get costly!.
